The new expansion card adds full support for the new specification on motherboards with a PCIe x4 slot. With the USB Type-A port design and backward compatibility with USB 2.0/3.0/3.1, the new expansion card offers an affordable way for users to upgrade to the USB 3.2 Gen 2 specification without having to get a new motherboard. The new ASM3142 doesn’t just deliver the fastest USB 3.1 performance. It also reduces the power consumption by as much as 50%. When compared with a Gen3 x1 connected controller, the AS3142 is able to deliver double the performance.
