This converter is designed to convert a M.2 port into a standard SATA port. Instead of installing a M.2 card, any SATA hard drive, optical drive or SATA storage device can now be connected to the M.2 female connector (host port). It is a great tool to add more SATA ports to the system and to utilize the available M.2 connector in Desktop systems.
